Discovering Luras
Throughout the “Discovering Luras” excursion we will visit the ethnographic museum where costumes and objects of the almost mythological figure of the “femina agabbadora” are kept, a woman who put an end to the lives of people of any age, generally chronically ill, whose conditions led to requesting a death dignified and prompt, by them or their families.
We will then continue to the “Ladas” dolmen, one of the largest in Sardinia and the Mediterranean. Located a short distance from three other dolmens, Alzoledda, Billella and Ciuledda, it is situated in an area rich in archaeological evidence that documents the continuity of human settlement since prehistoric mes.
We will visit a “conca fraicata“, which still has the access door. It is a natural rock cavity closed with horizontal granite blocks in rows, with lintels over the entrance door (hence the name fraicàta, which means built).
This type of construction served as a shelter for men or animals and as a storage room for tools. This system used since prehistoric times has in some cases been used to create burial places.
During the “Discovering Luras” excursion there will be stops in refreshment points and an overnight stay in a B&B and/or farmhouse with dinner and breakfast included, where you can taste typical local products
